Jennifer Daugherty

Jennifer has five years of experience in health care and currently works as a manager in Solutions for the Child Health Corporation of America. Previously, she worked as a Business Manager in Maternal-Child Services at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. Jennifer anticipates graduating in May of 2008. She and her six-year-old daughter, Tori, have relocated from Topeka and are now living in Olathe.
Vice-President T. Paul Rohrer, Jr.
Hometown: Lake Quivira, KS
Undergrad: Drake University
Degree: B.S./B.A. with a Marketing concentration
Residence: Prairie Village, KS
Prior to joining the MHSA program, Paul worked as a sales manager for a local beverage distribution company. He managed various sales channels including on-premise, military, at-work, vending, transportation, collegiate, and gaming. Paul is now making the leap into health care administration. He has completed an internship with St. Luke's Health System at the information systems campus in Lee's Summit, MO, and now works full-time for St. Luke's.
Treasurer Ryan Schauer
Ryan became interested in pursuing an MHSA when he began his Air Force career as an ICU medic. For the last eight years he has served in various active duty Air Force positions related to health care. His current assignment is to recruit health professionals for active duty service covering a four-state area.

Dorothy Hughes

Degree: B.A. in International Studies
Residence: Mission, KS
Dorothy, a part-time MHSA student, works as the Practice Coordinator for Consulting Solutions at B.E. Smith in Lenexa. Previously she worked at KUMC in government affairs and before that was a health and social policy legislative assistant in the Washington, DC, office of Congressman Jerry Moran.

Susan Henry
Hometown: Fort Scott, KS

Undergrad: University of Kansas
Degree: B.S. in Communication Studies

Residence: Overland Park, KS

Susan is a part-time student and is in her second year of the program. She works as a project coordinator in the Marketing Department at the University of Kansas Hospital (KUH) and has also served as support staff for KUH senior executives and authority board meetings. Susan plans to pursue a position in strategic marketing and organization improvement upon completion of her MHSA.

James Bloom

Undergrad: University of Kansas

Degrees: B.A. in Journalism; MBA

Jim worked in the summer of 2007 as a management trainee at the Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA) Eastern Kansas Health Care System in Topeka and Leavenworth. Before returning to graduate school in August 2006, he worked for more than 20 years in the newspaper industry. He was editor and publisher of The Hutchinson News from 1997 to 2006 and The Garden City Telegram from 1987 to 1997. Jim has an MBA (1983) and a BA in Journalism (1980), both from KU. He and his wife, Susan, have three children: Ashley, 21; Whitney, 18; and Lindsey, 15.
